Will absolutely melt your heart!“Good music for good people under the fluttering of sails” is the motto of XXIII Klaipeda Castle Jazz Festival which will traditionally invite the first weekend of June jazz lovers not only to cheer through while listening to the world’s most famous jazz rhythms but also to unlock the realms of romance and tranquility. This year this task is delegated to Till Brönner Septet, one of the most precious crown jewels of XXIII Klaipeda Castle Jazz Festival.
“Till Brönner does not try to resemble anyone else, he is simply a unique jazz singer and entertainer. And this is proved by his phenomenal ability to elegantly and delicately create a cheerful, carefree groove, friendly and yet contemplative, soft and yet at no time shallow. Brönner’s trumpet and his voice are equally prized and evoke a unique, sunny and bright atmosphere during his outstanding performances. I already see the picture of a sunset with Till Brönner’s peacefull melodies filling in the air with love”, says Inga Grubliauskienė, the president of Klaipeda Castle Jazz Festival.
German trumpet virtuoso Till Brönner is one of Europe’s most successful jazz musicians. Till Brönner is full-swing into an exceptional career that sees him play, sing, produce, compose, arrange, record and collaborate with the greatest artists from the jazz world and beyond. In 2009 he was nominated for a Grammy in category for “Best instrumental Jazz solo”, and a year ago Till Brönner was invited to perform at International Jazz Day at the White House. Till Brönner serves also as UNESCO Jazz Day Ambassador and is in the list amongst the most prominent jazz musicians of the world.
Berlin based trumpet player at the beginning of his career was a soloist in the renowned RIAS Big Band, and in 1994 released his first solo album “Generations of Jazz” (with a legendary bass guitarist Ray Brown and percussionist Jeff Hamilton) which was a real sensation in German jazz industry and won several awards: Preis der Deutschen.
In 2016 a virtuous trumpeter and a unique jazz singer releases the album “The Good Life”. In “The Good Life,” Brönner dedicates himself to his very own interpretation of classics from the Great American Song Book and creates a wonderfully relaxed new interpretation of these tried-and-tested song classics without making it a point to make them “modern”. It’s like a challenge using tested jazz standards to retell an entirely new and original story with unexpected musical twists. Many music critics wonder the musician’s ability to remain loyal to himself and no doubt would agree that a German phenomenon and an authority in regards to jazz Till Brönner will be one of the best known names in the history of jazz.
Till Brönner will perform accompanied by his congenial six-member band in XXIII Klaipeda Castle Jazz Festival.
